It’s my Birthday this Friday so, I thought I would put La Roe’s on Sale through August 31st for only 0.99!
When Emerald La Roe ran away 300 years ago, she had not planned to return. However, after repeated dreams from Goddess Morrigan, Emerald finally realizes she has no choice. Emerald not only finds a magical sword waiting for her, but her dead husband also.
It seems Stefan O’ Duff wants’ reconciliation and help to cure the curse they share. Emerald would rather see him dead than be with him again, she has someone else to consider though. Her new love, Maxwell Howard a werewolf, who through sharing blood with Emerald, now faces the same fate as Emerald and Stefan. For the cure to work, Emerald has to put her hatred of Stefan aside and consent to share his bed again.
Can Emerald put 300 years of anger aside to save them or will she sacrifice all their futures and kill him as she swore to do?
Excerpt
As the doctor was finishing up, “You must remember this is a very dangerous time still for both of them. Also, make sure both Mother and baby, stay in bed for at least a few more days and Ivory must not go outdoors at all for a fortnight. Be sure to remember to keep her bundled up warmly.”
“Momma is a good mother, to say she is not is an insult to her and my family. Momma raised me just fine and she knows what to do.”
“Emerald that is enough, I want you to apologize to the good doctor right this minute. Just because he is from a different station than you, does not mean you can treat him that way. We would have a very hard life if not for good people like the doctor here.” Papa scolded me.
Turning towards the doctor, I felt ashamed for the way I had acted. “I am sorry, please forgive my rudeness. I had presumed you were accusing my mother of not knowing how to care for us. I am sorry.”
The doctor laughed before saying. “You might have a few outbursts, but you are a good girl.”
When the doctor had left, mother asked me. “What do you know or remember about the day Ivory was born?”
“I went outside, and the flowers spoke to me, using their smells to guide me. I also remember someone speaking to me.”
“Do you remember whether the voice was male or female?”
“I am not really sure. The voice came from inside my head, but I think it was female.”
“Good, I need to rest now, but I promise to explain all later.” Momma finished before lying back down.
Intriguing bit here.
Hmm. You've got me wondering about the significance of the voice in her head being femal.
Hi Janet and Ed,
Thank you both for your comments.
Ed, you are right about the significance of the voice being female.
